Jeanne Phillips: Couple ready to give long distance a try
Dear Abby: I am an 18-year-old high school senior who will be leaving for college soon. My boyfriend, also a senior, will be leaving, too. We have been going out for two years and trust each other completely. We attended different schools, so we are both fairly adapted to a long-distance relationship.

Ok, so as the title says just straight out, please don’t tell me long distance is stupid or won’t work. Just looking for an answer to my question.
So me and my girl we’re talking about being at a beach and she’s giving me a massage and all. (loved it btw haha) So I told her, tomorrow I’ll give her one. Of course we’re not really giving each other one but, for those who understand what I’m getting at, any advice on what to tell her for when I give the massage?
I live in Oregon and my boyfriend lives hundreds of miles away in California. He is planning to move up here in a year. We both agreed to be faithful to one another. But it is very hard being away from him for so long. What can we both do to make this relationship work until he is able to move?
My boyfriend and I have been together for a little under a year. We go to different colleges, and we will be spending the summer mostly apart due to work. So far, we’ve been able to make it work, but I was wondering if anyone had advice on how to keep your relationship strong when you’re apart so much. Thanks a ton!
I’m going home for the summer, and my boyfriend of seven months and I are continuing the relationship. Unfortunately, I live half way across the country. I’m already planning on writing to him frequently, but does anyone have any other advice? (Please don’t mention keeping in touch on the phone. I have an irrational fear of talking on the phone, and only do it in emergencies… silly, I know, but oh well.)
My boyfriend and I are in a long distance realtionship, I’m in California and he’s in Arizona. We’re going on four months and we have at least 10 more months of this. Please don’t tell me that these relationships dont last, because I know that if we want it to, it will because he is worth it. Any tips/advice on how to maintain a strong, healthy relationship?
I’ve been with my boyfriend for 15 months now and everything’s been just great
However, now he’s off to study abroad for 9 months. Do you think it can work? Any tips?
(when the person lives several states over & you can’t see them very often).
Thanks for any tips/advice.
And don’t just say “they don’t work”–I know several couples who worked thru the kinks & bad times. Any tips/suggestions are appreciated. Thanks. :]
I’ve been dating my boyfriend for two years, we’re both 21. Now I am transferring to a different college for the last two years. We will go from seeing each other daily to during christmas and during the summer. Those of you who are in long distance relationships, what do you do to keep the spark alive. I know it’s going to be so hard. Any tips? Thanks!
